    Default Setup repeatedly stops and restarts in Windows XP

Data error "cyclic redundancy check" When you start again your computer after you obtain these messages, Setup restarts, and the process might reiterate.

    This matter might take place if your hard disk is broken or ruined. You obtain the error messages because the Setup program is attempting to restore the trouble on hard drive.

    To solve this topic, use the following processes in the order that they are offered until the topic is determined.

    Method 1: Let the Setup program repair the hard disk

    Do again the cycle of running console, starting again your PC when prompted, and then permiting Setup to renovate the drive. Setup might successfully complete after numerous repetitions. Go to method 2, if the cycle continues after numerous repetitions.

    Default Method 2: Run "chkdsk /r" from the Recovery Console

    To run chkdsk /r from the recovery console, follow these steps:

    1. Start again the computer.

    2. When the "Welcome to Setup" screen comes into view, press R to start the
    Recovery Setup.

    3. Choose the installation that you want to entrance from the Recovery Console, if you have multiple-boot computer or a dual-boot.

    4. When you are prompted to do so, type the administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, press ENTER.

    5. At the command prompt, type chkdsk /r, and then press ENTER.

    6. When Chkdsk has finished running, read the results, and then take any necessary steps to complete the process. For example, you may be prompted to run chkdsk /f to fix certain problems.

    7. Start again the computer, and then attempt to execute Setup again.

    Method 3: Replace your hard disk drive

    You might have to return your hard drive, if it is broken and cannot be restored. Contact your PC dealer, the retailer where you bought it, or a qualified technician about replacing your hard disk.
