After you install Windows NT version 4.0 on a computer configured with a Quantum XP-32150 SCSI hard disk connected to an Adaptec AHA-1542b SCSI controller, you can have following symptoms that can make you stuck:
• Slow performance during I/O operations such as hard disk reads and writes.
• Windows NT seems to stop responding (hang) during the boot process while the SCSI bus times out.
To work about this issue if you face any time, disable your synchronous negotiation in the BIOS on the Adaptec SCSI host adapter. And please refer to your manufacturer's documentation for information about to get help from it..
