SYMPTOMS:
When you attempt to run PhotoDraw 2000, you may get the following error message:
Unable to start the application.
CAUSE:
If PhotoDraw was installed by a user who does not have administrator permissions and if there are security restrictions on parts of the registry for that user this issue may happen.
WORKAROUND:
To work around this problem, follow these steps.
In Microsoft Windows XP
1. Insert your PhotoDraw CD, and then put the Photodrw folder.
2. Right-click the Photodrw folder, and then click Copy on the shortcut menu.
3. Right-click the root of your local hard disk (E.g., right-click the root of drive C), and then click Paste on the shortcut menu.
The Photodrw folder from your PhotoDraw CD-ROM is now copied to the root of your local hard disk.
4. Restart Windows in Safe mode.
5. At the Windows logon screen, log on as the administrator .
6. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove Programs.
7. Remove Microsoft PhotoDraw.
8. Restart Windows in Safe mode.
9. At the Windows logon screen, log on as the administrator (or log on as a user with administrator permissions).
10. To reinstall PhotoDraw, double-click the Setup.exe file, which is located in the PhotoDraw folder on your local hard disk.
In Microsoft Windows 2000
1. Log on to your PC as the local administrator. Your user name must actually read Administrator when you log on.
2. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
3. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
4. In the Installed Programs list, click PhotoDraw 2000, and then remove the program.
5. Once you remove PhotoDraw 2000, restart Windows.
6. Once you restart Windows, log on as Administrator.
7. Make confident that no programs such as virus scanners are currently running, and then install PhotoDraw 2000.
