You cannot select the Upgrade option when you try to install Windows Vista, and you receive the following message: “Windows cannot determine if another operating system exists on your computer”
You might obtain the following error message in the Install Windows dialog box, when you attempt to install Windows Vista, you will not be able to choose the Upgrade category:
Upgrade has been disabled
- Windows cannot find out if one more operating system exists on your PC. Try fixing the boot arrangement, and after that start on the installation once more.
This problem occurs if the Boot.ini file includes faulty entries. Mainly, this reason happens if the boot path in the Boot.ini file does not have the exact place for the Windows directory.
To resolve this reason, alter the Boot.ini file to exact the entries that are not relevant.
