The system partition may be assigned a drive letter other than the one that you expect when you install Windows XP
The system partition might be allotted a drive letter other than the one that you expect, when you install or improve to Windows XP. For e.g., the system division might be allotted a drive letter other than C.
The system separation includes the Ntdetect.com, Ntldr and Boot.ini files.
This cause might take place if a Zip drive is associated to the PC when you install Windows XP. The trouble happens when the PC identifies the Zip drive as a hard drive.
To solve this trouble, cut off the Zip drive from the PC. Then, reboot Windows XP.
Microsoft has established that this is a cause in the Microsoft products that are scheduled in the "Applies to" subdivision.
