"This module was compiled with a trial version of Delphi" error message when you run a program, open a window, or open a dialog box in Windows XP
SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to open a window, or dialog box in Windows XP, you get error messages just like given below:
This module was compiled with a trial version of Delphi. The trial version has expired.
Iexplore is not a valid date.
CAUSE
This problem happens when a program that is there on your PC was created by using Delphi programming tools trial version. This will take place in any of the programs given below:
• CPR
• Grokster file sharing application
RESOLUTION
To solve this problem, restart PC in Safe Mode. Then apply any one or more of the given methods.
Method 1: Clear the Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart) check box
1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Click Network and Internet Connections.
3. Click Internet Options.
4. On the Advanced tab, click to clean Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart) check box.
5. Click OK to close the Internet Properties dialog box.
6. Restart your PC.
Method 2: Remove a program by using Add or Remove Programs
1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Click Add or Remove Programs.
3. In the Currently installed programs list, click the program that you would like to remove, and then click Remove.
4. Restart your PC.
Method 3: Rename Cpr.dll
1. Click Start, and then click Search.
2. Click on All files and folders options.
3. In the All or part of the file name text box, type as cpr.dll.
4. In the Look in box, click your hard disk drive. Such as, click Local Disk (C.
5. Click Search.
6. Right-click the file that was found, and after that click on Rename.
7. Type cpr.old, and after that press on the ENTER key.
8. Restart your PC.
Method 4: Remove third-party spyware, adware, or unwanted software programs
Any third party spyware or software that you do not need should be removed.
