"Insufficient disk space" or Error 1603 when you try to install IntelliPoint, IntelliType Pro, or LifeCam software

Method 4: Perform a clean startup and clear Temp folder

When you do a clean startup before you starting the installation, you avoid these programs from starting automatically. To do a clean startup, follow the proper steps for your Windows version.
Step 1: Restart the computer by using a clean startup
1. Open System Configuration.
Windows Vista
a. Click Start
b. In the Start Search box, type System Configuration.
c. In the Programs list, click System Configuration. If you are prompted for an administrator password, type the password, or click Continue.
2. Windows XP and earlier versions
a. Click Start.
b. Click Run.
c. In the Open box, type msconfig.
d. Click OK.
3. On the General tab, click Selective Startup.
4. Windows Vista
Under Selective Startup, click to clear the following check boxes:
o Load system services
o Load startup items
o Use original boot configuration
Windows XP and earlier versions
Under Selective Startup, click to clear the following check boxes:
o Process SYSTEM.INI File
o Process WIN.INI File
o Load Startup Items
5. Click the Services tab.
6. Click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable All.
7. Click OK, and then click Restart.
Step 2: Clear the Temp folder
To clear the temporary file folder, follow the steps given below:
Windows Vista
1. On a PC that is running Windows Vista, click Start , type %temp% in the Start Search box, and then click Temp in the Programs list.
If you are being evoked for an administrator password, type the password, or else click on Continue.
2. On the Edit menu, click Select All.
3. On the File menu, click Delete.
4. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
5. Attempt to run IntelliPoint, IntelliType Pro, or LifeCam program. If you get error message that is given in the "Symptoms" part, delete the program, and then reinstall the program.
Windows XP and earlier versions
1. Click Start, click Run, type %temp%, and after that click on OK.
