The mouse and the keyboard may not be detected when you install the Wireless Optical Desktop for Bluetooth or the Wireless Entertainment Desktop 7000
The mouse and the keyboard can not be detected, once you install the Wireless Optical Desktop for Bluetooth or the Wireless Entertainment Desktop 7000. Also, you may get the following error message:
Could not discover a Bluetooth device. Make sure it is turned on and that you have followed the manufacturer's documentation.
CAUSE:
If the following situation is true this problem may happen:
• *There was an problem list or else installing the Bluetooth Transceiver. The Bluetooth Transceiver is the Bluetooth device that plugs into the USB port.
• You do not include Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1) installed. Microsoft Bluetooth is supported merely by Windows XP SP1.
• There was an issue with the Bluetooth Stack.
• Microsoft IntelliType Pro 2.3 as well as Microsoft IntelliPoint 4.9 were not installed or else there is a problem with one of these devices.
RESOLUTION:
Delete the Bluetooth components, and then install the Wireless Optical Desktop for Bluetooth, to solve this problem. To execute this, follow these steps:
1. Unplug the transceiver.
2. Remove IntelliPoint version 4.9 and IntelliType Pro version 2.3. To do this, follow these steps:

3. Remove Windows XP Hotfix (SP2) for Bluetooth Wireless Devices. To do this, follow these steps:

a. Follow the directions that show on the screen to delete the software>> reboot the PC.
4. Start Registry Editor. To do this, use the proper method:
o In Windows Vista, click Start
o In Windows XP, click Start>>click Run, type regedit >>click OK.
5. To delete certain registry keys, you must change the permissions. To perform this, right-click the key>>click Permissions>> click Allow Full control for the user EVERYONE.
Delete the following registry keys:
o HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\B TH
o HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\B THENUM
o HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\U SB\Vid_045e... All where the DeviceDesc on the first sub-folder mentions Microsoft Bluetooth.
o HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{E0CBF06C-CD8B-4647-BB8A-263B43F0F974}
o HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E96F-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\<NNNN> where <NNNN> is a set of four numbers and the DeviceDesc lists "Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer for Bluetooth (IntelliPoint)")
o HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E96B-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\<NNNN> where <NNNN> is a set of four numbers and the DeviceDesc lists "Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop for Bluetooth Keyboard")
o HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002bE10318}\<NNNN> where <NNNN> is a set of four numbers and the DeviceDesc lists "Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI)")
o HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\BthEnum
o HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\BthServ
o HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\BTHUSB
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\BTHPORT
6. Reboot the PC in a clean-boot state.
7. Install the Bluetooth stack. To execute this, pursue these instructions:
. Put the Wireless Optical Desktop for Bluetooth disc in your drive>> and after that double-click on My Computer.
a. Right-click on the CD or else DVD drive>> and click on the Explore.
b. Open the Prereq\BthStack\Enu folder.
c. Double-click the Q323183_wxp_sp2_x86_enu.exe file.
8. When the PC is in a clean-boot state, install the Wireless Optical Desktop for Bluetooth, IntelliPoint, and IntelliType software.
