Thread: Unofficial Windows XP Themes Created by Microsoft

If anyone has ever tried to customize the theme in Windows will be knowing that the uxtheme file are required to be hacked in to install themes into XP which are not digitally signed by Microsoft. If you are unable to patch your system you may be interested in the unauthorized themes created by Microsoft.

There are other themes available as well but we are using this particular one.

Royale:

This theme is bright and blue in color.



To install, download, extract the zipfile, and after that start the installer. When asked for the location to store the files, choose default settings optoion.



Now go to display settings menu and apply a theme from the list.

Royale Noir:

Royale Noir a darker version of the Royale theme, but it wasn’t finished before Microsoft published it, and it distributed it everywhere on the web.



Once the downloading and extracting of the zipfile is completed, you are required to copy the royale_noir folder into C:\Windows\Resources\Themes and after that double-click on Luna.msstyles file from the directory and reset it to go with the screenshot shown above.



Zune Theme:

The theme was launched to celebrate the Zune launch, and it looks same as Royale Noir, except the orange start button.



To install this theme just download and run the installer. It’s pretty simple!
