Automatic Updates is a very useful utility. It keeps the system safe from threats one doesn’t has to worry about it… but if one is doing some important work till late night or early morning, the last thing he wants is the automatic updates to pop up and inform that needs to be restarted.

To temporarily deactivate this popup message and holdup restarting, go to run from the start menu and enter following commands.

net stop “automatic updates”

Or go to Control Panel \ Administrative Tools \ Services and click on Stop on automatic updates option.

Don’t deactivate the automatic updates service permanently; just delay it for a while. When you reboot, it will be restarted automatically.
