Thread: Stop the Annoying "There are unused icons on your desktop" Popup Balloon

In Windows XP is the popup balloon dialog box prompting to clean your desktop is the most irritating feature. Here’s a trick on how to shut it off.



Right-click the desktop and select Properties option, and after that the Desktop tab option, and then the Customize Desktop icon button.



Uncheck the box for “Run Annoying Desktop Cleanup Wizard every 60 days”



And it will go away for ever.
