If there is one bloated and unwanted service that you should immediately stop, it’s the Indexing Service built-in Windows XP. The reason is that one can look for files faster if it’s activated.

The indexing service takes a lot of space on your CPU on every machine, especially when there are too many files stored in your system.

1. Go to the Services console through Administrative Tools menu.
2 Double-click on Indexing Service and adjust the startup type to deactivate.
3. Press stop button if it is started, which is likely, and then click on OK option.
