Here’s a freeware utility that allows searching IE favorites right from in the browser itself.
The utility is named DzSoft Favorites Search, and it’s absolutely free, though it has 1 obvious fault: One can not open bookmarks in a new tab, which usually all the users do. It is also slightly clunky, as it was originally meant for IE 5.0, so it’s obvious.
Using the Search Panel:
After completing installation process, access to a new search panel will be possible on the left side of the screen, which seems to be working nicely… one can search for a single keyword, multiple, and also the URL.
Show the Toolbar Button:
To get access to this panel, make sure that there’s a new option is included in the toolbar, but it’s hidden here in this example. Right-click on that option and uncheck “Lock the Toolbars” option from the menu.
After that drag slider till the new Favorites Search option appears in the window. If it’s still hidden, use Customize Command Bar button at the top and include it into the toolbar.
It can also be done by holding down the Alt key till the menu appears on the screen, and after that go to View \ Explorer Bar \ DzSoft Favorites Search, but it’s not an easy method to do so.
