Windows 2000 has accepted end of Mainstream Support and will not be getting any Daylight Savings updates if you have extensive Hotfix Support. This means clock will not mechanically modify itself for Daylight Savings. This applies to XP with SP1 installed. You can vary Windows Daylight Savings settings by yourself using tzedit.exe tool. The tzedit.exe tool permits you to make and edit time zone entries for Date or Time settings in Control Panel, particularly for daylight-saving time. Windows XP users you can update to SP2 and not have to concern about it.

To edit a time zone double click tzedit.exe

1. In Time Zone Editor dialog box, choose a time zone and then tick Edit.

2. If you would like daylight saving time to be mechanically enabled for time zone, check the Automatically Set Daylight Saving Time check box. Then set dates and times on which daylight savings time will stop and start.

3. In second box, optionally type a name to be utilized for time zone when daylight savings time is in result.

4. In Daylight Bias box, choose time change from Standard time for daylight savings time. In many cases this value must stay at default value of +1:00 hour. This will cause time to go ahead one hour on DST start day/time and fall back one hour on DST end day/time.
