Thread: Lock Your Workstation with a Click of the Mouse

If you want to leave PC running but do not want others to be able to access it while you are away then you have ability to lock it. To unlock PC just enter password assuming you have one allocated to user account.

To lock PC generally press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and then must click on Lock Workstation or click on Start and Log Off based on how PC is setup. There is a method to create shortcut on desktop or anywhere else that will permit you to lock PC by clicking on it.

To create shortcut, right click on desktop and click Now and then Shortcut. In the box that shows Type the location of item then enter rundll32.exe user32.dll, LockWorkStation. Then tick on Next and give shortcut a name like Lock Workstation and then click Finish. Then all you want to do is double click it to lock PC.

To lock a workstation with a keyboard you can press <Win> + L keyboard shortcut! <Win> is a "Windows" key with a flag.
