Not like Windows XP, earlier editions of Windows may not have file a print sharing enabled out of box. If this is not enabled then you will not be able to share folders and printers on network. To enable file and print sharing do the following:

Go to Start, Settings and then Control Panel. Double tick the Network icon. You get dialog box shown below.

Click on the File and Printer Sharing button.

Check the boxes that you wish to enable.

Click Ok and then Ok again. You must insert Windows CD so Windows can copy the required files.

Reboot PC when completed if prompted to do so.
