    Default Windows boots very slowly

I have an Intel Dual Core 2 with Windows XP SP2 running on 1.5 GB RAM and 256 of graphics card memory. I also use Kaspersky Internet Security. Even then, my PC takes too much time to start. I have tried everything. I've removed unwanted startup programs, defragmented my drive, but it still takes a lot of time. Please help me. The Windows XP logo stays on screen for long.

Try running a thorough disk scan to make sure the hard drive doesn't have any problems. Also, make sure you have all the drivers for the motherboard are installed. If nothing works, a format and then reinstall is worth doing.
