With boot CD, you can run analytical checks and antivirus scans on PC without loading whole system. This is useful if system has become so flooded down that loading complete OS makes it quite worthless; malicious viruses can frequently do this. If PC does not have optical drive or drive does not work, you can start PC from USB drive.

Instructions

Step 1

Download boot CD image. They have huge array of boot CD images that permits to run different tests on PC. Find one that suits PC. It will be in ISO image file format.

Step 2

Download and install free WinToFlash utility. This takes annoyance out of mounting image to USB drive.

Step 3

Put in USB drive into PC. Open WinToFlash application.

Step 4

Open "Basic Parameters" tab and put USB Drive to "Flash Stick," Set Format to "USB-HDD" and File scheme to "Fat32."

Step 5

Choose "Windows Source Path" and go to Boot reflection that is there in first Step.

Step 6

Choose "USB Drive" and go to inserted USB flash drive. Click "Run" to start formatting. After finish, you have completely bootable USB drive enable to boot Windows XP-formatted PC.
