Including "backwards compatibility" to afterward versions of software is significant, as it permits for users to open their files made on later OS below previous revisions of similar program. Files made below Windows Vista should be saved in proper fashion to allow their use on XP systems. This additional step only takes seconds, but it saves heartache of by mistake making unsuited files.
Instructions
Step 1
Click on "File" menu to create file. Choose "Save As."
Step 2
Select option to save file in "Windows XP" format from list at bottom of "Save As" menu.
Step 3
Click "Save" to save XP friendly version of Vista file. File now be moved to XP-based PC and opened without problem.
