Zip drives are earlier parts of technology that permit for use of higher density floppy disks that save extra data than their regular floppy disk brethren. Using Zip drive with Windows XP SP 2 can verify difficult, as there is recognized problem whereby Windows may be unsuccessful to detect drive. Solution to this is to uninstall then reinstall Windows XP.
Instructions
Step 1
Detach Zip compel from PC.
Step 2
Go to Start menu and click "Control Panel." Open choice to "Add/Remove Programs."
Step 3
Go through list and highlight option for "Windows XP." Click "Uninstall". This will delete current installation of Windows XP and go to earlier OS.
Step 4
Put in Windows XP disc into PC. Choose option to "Install" from menu.
Step 5
Select option to do an "Upgrade" installation.
Step 6
Input the remaining needed information like product ID number to finish reinstallation procedure.
Step 7
Reattach Zip make to PC.
