Partition the hard disk

Before start the partition process makes sure you take the backup of your data. Now more to the partition step.

Insert the windows xp CD in your cd drive. Of if you have floppy disk then use this for formatting. To start the computer setup restarts your computer.

Format the hard disk and install Windows XP

Follow the Step to format Your PC.

1] Use ARROW keys to move your cursor and select the partition where you want to install windows xp, and then Press “ENTER”.

2] Now select the format partition option which ever you format this display like this.

o Format the partition by using the NTFS file system (Quick)
o Format the partition by using the FAT file system (Quick)
o Format the partition by using the NTFS file system
o Format the partition by using the FAT file system
o Leave the current file system intact (no changes)

NOTE:-

• If you select the new partition then the option to leave the current files not seen on the board.
• If your partition is larger than 32 GB , The FAT file option now shown on the board.
• If windows showing FAT32 PROGRAM it means the partition is larger then 2GB.
• IF your partition is smaller than 2GB then your system uses the FAT16 files.
• Some time your computer prompted you to select a file system for both the system if you are deleted old file and created new one.

3] Press ENTER

4] Now computer being in process. After windows Setup program formats the partition, follow shows instruction appear on your monitor screen. After completed the program you have to restart your computer, you also can create the disk management tools in windows xp to format other partition.
