Thread: Disk Cleanup not responding

When I run Disk clean up. It gets to the first three bars when examination the files (status bar says "compress old files") and after that just hangs there? If I close it and run it once more, after that it just not at all comes up at all.

Follow the given steps which is helpful for you.

1. Click Start, and after that click Run.
2. Type regedit in the Open box and next press ENTER.
3. Locate, and after that click the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\VolumeCaches
4. On the File menu, click Export, and after that click desktop, type Volume Caches in the File name box, and after that click Save.
6. Delete the Compress old files registry key.
7. Quit Registry Editor.
