To restore task manager for Windows XP follow the steps given below:
• Go to Start, click Run and type regedit
• Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ System
• Locate key DisableTaskMgr. This key must be set to 1 means access to task manager is disabled so give it to 0.
Also try Process Explorer that displays handles and DLLs processes. Top window shows list of active processes, owning accounts, bottom window displays mode of Process Explorer. If it is in handle mode see handles that process chosen, if Process Explorer is in DLL mode see DLLs and memory mapped files that process has loaded.
