Thread: Internet Connection Not Recognized By Some

Windows XP installed in my system and Firefox is my default browser but some programs like IE, Yahoo Messenger, and virus scanners say that there is no connection to the internet. I do not know why this happen .most programs to not recognize the internet connection but for Mozilla Firefox to recognize it. Any idea would be highly appreciated.

check your Firefox settings. I think you selected a proxy setting?

Those DNS addresses don't ping. A DNS server generally responses to ping.

No, I stay in the US. Any idea how to solve this? Internet Explorer reset things or something? I do not know if this makes a difference, but I am unable to connect to my router on a different system with no trouble.

With DNS pointed to the Ukraine I would be seriously worried about your personal information on this computer. This is one of the signs of a man in the middle attack. Highly suggest scanning for root kits, bots, etc .Since you are getting these DNS entries from your home router I have to think your router has also been compromised.
