Thread: IE8 corrupted won't uninstall in Windows XP

My Computer running windows XP home IE8. It had some malware and CRP that I appear to have cleaned out ok. But browser is now corrupted. Wireless card connects to router and obtains IP address, and when I installed Firefox, I can get on line. I would like to get I could uninstall then reinstall IE 8. But when I try to uninstall, I get errors about absent files and it quits uninstall. I tried to install ie8 overtop of existing files, but get same errors. Please help me to solve this problem.

You go to the Control Panel then Internet Options then Advanced and click Reset key. In box that pops up, tick box that says "Delete personal settings" and click Reset. After it's finished, click apply and then OK.

You go to Start Menu then Run and typing inetcpl.cpl if that works, icon is perhaps hidden. Go to Control Panel" section and observe if "inetcpl.cpl - Internet Control Panel" is ticked. If it is, Untick it and click pertain then tick it again and click Apply.
