1) The indexing service seems to consume much memory on every system I’ve used, especially when you have the number of files that I have got.
• Navigate to the Services console through Administrative Tools.
• Double-click on the Indexing Service and change the startup type to disabled.
• Press the stop button if it is started, which is likely, and after that click OK.
2) To disable the indexing service:
• In the "Start" menu, select "Run."
• Type "services.msc" and hit Enter.
• Scroll-down to "Indexing Service" and double-click it.
• If the service status is "Running", then stop it by pressing the "Stop" button.
• To ensure this service not run again, under "Startup Type:” select "Disabled."
