Windows XP SP2 is a report of the Windows XP in service system with Service Pack 2 installed. If a password reset disk is occupied, try the second method.

Instructions

• Restart the workstation and wait for the Windows XP logon screen. When this appears, click the administrator user pick and press "Enter."

• Click "Use your password reset disk" option. This launch the Password reset window. Click "Next."

• Insert the password reset CD into the computer's disc drive and click "Next."

• Enter a new password in the "Type a new code word" text box. Enter the password again in the confirmation box.

• Enter a password hint in the password hint text box and click "Next."

• Click "Finish" and log back into Windows XP.

• Reset Password without Reset Disk

• Start over the computer and log into any account with administrator-level access.

• Press "Start," then select "Run." Enter "control userpasswords2" into the uniform text box and click "OK."

• Press "Reset Password" in the password for administrator menu. This is placed in the lower-right place of the dialog box.

• Enter a new password in the password text box. Type in the code word again to confirm it.

• Hit "OK" to save the settings. The administrator password has then been reset.
