Windows XP SP2 is a report of the Windows XP in service system with Service Pack 2 installed. If a password reset disk is occupied, try the second method.
Instructions
Restart the workstation and wait for the Windows XP logon screen. When this appears, click the administrator user pick and press "Enter."
Click "Use your password reset disk" option. This launch the Password reset window. Click "Next."
Insert the password reset CD into the computer's disc drive and click "Next."
Enter a new password in the "Type a new code word" text box. Enter the password again in the confirmation box.
Enter a password hint in the password hint text box and click "Next."
Click "Finish" and log back into Windows XP.
Reset Password without Reset Disk
Start over the computer and log into any account with administrator-level access.
Press "Start," then select "Run." Enter "control userpasswords2" into the uniform text box and click "OK."
Press "Reset Password" in the password for administrator menu. This is placed in the lower-right place of the dialog box.
Enter a new password in the password text box. Type in the code word again to confirm it.
Hit "OK" to save the settings. The administrator password has then been reset.
