Thread: Not save any changes on XP

I am windows XP user. From last 2-3 days I am unable to save any settings. It doesn't save my screen resolution, screensaver, and lots of other customized settings are unsaved. Please tell me what is happen exactly? how to solve this problem.

To solve this problem follow the given steps:

1. Go to start >> run >>Open regedit and check for DWORD value NoSaveSettings in following keys:

a. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer
b. HKEY_USERS\.Default\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Cur rentVersion\Policies\Explorer

c. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Policies\Explorer

d. HKEY_USERS\.Default\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Program Manager\Restrictions

2. Once you find the DWORD value, remove it and reboot your computer.
It’ll resolve your issue and Windows will retain your information desktop settings.
