Thread: Remove the Standby option (button) in windows XP

I am looking for a registry tweak that will allow me remove the icon and option for standby? It shows it when you go to shut down your pc. Please tell me how I can remove the "Standby" option (button) when shutting down windows XP. Any help would be highly appreciated.

To Remove the Standby option then follows the given steps:

• Click Start, click Run, and enter REGEDIT.

• Navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\ACPI\Parameters.

• Right-click and select New | DWORD Value and name the value attributes.

• Double-click it to set its data.

• Ensure hexadecimal is selected, enter 70.

• Click OK and restart the PC.
