Can I change an XP start menu?
Open the Customize Start Menu Properties Window
Right-click "Start" button situated on Windows XP taskbar. Press on "Properties" in the shortcut menu. Press "Customize."
Add with Remove Programs from the Start Menu
Press the "Add" button, then Hit "Browse." Place any program you would like to add to the XP Start Menu open "My Computer," open the "Local Disk (C)" drive and find and press on the program application file. Hit "Open." Hit "Next." Choose the menu where you would like the novel program shortcut to show. Hit "Next." Enter the name you want to give the novel program shortcut. Press over.
Press the "Remove" button in the modify Start Menu Properties window. Place any program you would like to take away from the Windows XP start menu. Hit on it. Press "Remove." Press "Close" to close the "Remove Shortcuts/Folders" window.
Reorganize Programs in the Start Menu
Press the "Advanced" button in the modify Start Menu Properties window. Place any program shortcut you would like to shift to a new position. Right-click on it, and choose "Cut" from the shortcut menu. Navigate to the folder anywhere you would like to situate the program shortcut you just cut. Right-click and choose "Paste" from the shortcut menu.

You can easily change your XP MRU Start Menu very easily... Ofcourse it updates with the latest peices of software you use on your computer... Whether it be msn, word etc... You can pin and unpin files to your MRU list and the top category is permanent.
