Insert the Windows XP installation CD into the PC's CD-ROM drive. Again start the PC and allow Windows XP start to install. Admit the license agreement. Select your present hard drive as the position to install Windows XP. After you select the hard drive, there will emerge an option to format the drive. Select the option to format that drive by pressing the key listed in the instructions. Select the full format. Your hard drive will be reformatted and you can then over installing Windows XP.
Just put the windows installation disc in, format the drive and do a generic install... Once you have finnished the install... Insert your driver disc or obtain them from the computer manufacturer website... For example if its a acer aspire one, go to the acer website and search the model number of your laptop to get the correct drivers.
Just make sure you install the chipset driver first...
