Thread: Screensavers not running in windows XP

I lately formatted a pc for my brother and installed XP Media Center and installed all updates from Microsoft Updates and no screen savers are running. If you click sample, the screen savers work but they never arrive on after the selected time.

It depends on what is your monitor’s age, if it’s in 3 years old it won’t burn onto your screen, but as an substitute you can use the switch monitor off choice under power option.

If that doesn’t work then try this. Look in C:\WINNT\system32 for a file called ssstar.scr that's the star field imitation screensaver. If it isn't there, do a look for it. When you find it, move a copy to the location in the first line and it should work.

How does that solve the problem that no screen savers are at present coming on after particular minutes? I understand I can set the monitor to shut off after particular minutes but that doesn't solve the problem.

Have you tried to download a screen saver off the internet and just download one of them and see if it workings. If that doesn’t work then I’ll keep trying to solve your problem Check me and my Vides out.
