Thread: Updating ME TO XP

My brother is updating his old computer from Windows xp from ME. Since the computer is somewhat old and runs slow from viruses, he's going to format the disk before he installs XP. Is there anything he should backup? I'm a bit afraid about drivers, but I'm uncertain if they require to be backed up. As well, what's the best way to back up drivers if that's needed?

The simple technique is to find all your motherboard drivers from the manufacturer's website and secure them. Then backup using the transfer wizard that will get all your docs and settings with you.

When you say company do you mean the people that really made the motherboard or from the computer brand name people? The computer is a HP Pavilion and the only thing on HP's site is some video drivers.
