Default Unable to keep any setting on Windows XP

I am using Windows XP operating system with 2 GB RAM and Core2Duo processor. I have one issue with my OS. It doesn't save my screen resolution, screensaver, and other customized settings are unsaved and this occurs every now and then. If you are having any solution for that, then please provide that solution to me. I will be thankful to you.

To solve this problem follow these simple steps:

    1. Go to start then run and type regedit and check for DWORD value NoSaveSettings in right hand side under following keys:

    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer

    • HKEY_USERS\.Default\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Cur rentVersion\Policies\Explorer

    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Policies\Explorer

    • HKEY_USERS\.Default\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Program Manager\Restrictions

The DWORD value should be most maybe in the last one.

    2. Once you find the DWORD value, remove it and reboot your computer.

    3. It will fix your issue and Windows will remember your desktop settings.
