Thread: Shifting from windows XP PC to windows Vista computer

I waste most of time to find my files moved from the windows XP PC to the new PC. Third time was a charm and it lastly went through the transfer process with no bsod, unsolved freezes, etc., on the Vista machine. But, when I installed antivirus software, the default location for the program was c:/programs(x86)? As I looked at the files, there was a c:/programs and a c:/programs(x86) folder. Was this a result of the two unfinished transfers using WET?
Any solution to fix this problem.

The 64bit Windows it's usual to see the default Programs folder for the 64bit programs and a second Programs folder for some 32bit programs you install. This divide the 32bit from the 64bit softwares by intend. If the move worked out ok and Vista is running all as it should this is nothing to be worried about there.
