The problem is that Windows XP cannot install SATA disks automatically. To use a SATA you need a floppy disk to write to the disk driver or drivers Serial-ATA so that XP can read at the beginning and understand what type of disc in question. You can also use a hardware tool to tell you what type of disk you have installed but no operating system will be difficult.

Find a vista DVD you begin installation and follow instructions to get to format the hard disk when you run it and the formatting is complete turn off the computer take out the DVD drive light and put windows xp ready. Immediately starts the installation of xp.

The problem is that windoe xp can not install SATA disk automatically. I needed since the system should be able to automatically detect your SATA drive through Windows. I still can not install my OS over my new SATA drive. I have installed WinXP SP2 without any problem on an IDE Hard Drive. I was trying to install Windows XP SP3 on a SATA drive using the same mobo.,
