    Default Recovery in xp please help me

    I had vista on my acer 3680 when I acquired it and I imagined why not daulboot. I utilized my mom's Dell XP reset up disk, which really operated. I had not woods for xp, so I had to download them via vista. it operate. but now lately got a virus that attached itself to a system document. I have AVG anti virus software and I clicked transfer to vault not conceiving, when it told me something about it being attched to a system document. when I restarted it lately and it told me PCI.sys is lacking /spoilt" "system32/driver/PCI.sys" and willl not let me boot into either vista or xp.


    Now I recognize there are threads that tell me how, but I require to recognize something more, they don't operate.I have XP Pro, I don't remember my administartor password, is there a admin password that will act just like mine. I require to recognize rapidly, I have a school project I require to obtain finish earlier christmas break.

    Determine actual Windows setup CD. Boot from CD, select 'r' at first screen. PROFIT , Seriously, though, it sounds like you've got a spoilt Windows hardware wood, which is a identical straightforward and simple fix, IF you have the Windows install CD. Easy and simple stuff to repair. Could do it in underneath ten minutes tops (I've done it earlier, back when I was in that school comp lab job), if I was there and had the CD.Also, the worst that can accure is that the fix doesn't operate, and you're back where you're started. No big deal, no catastrophic failures.

    Thanks, I got it fixed by just lacking with the document on the disk.I was not utilize any "naughty programs" I was downloading something to make my machine run good, and i turns out it was a trojan horse downloader. and I got 10 virus' earlier this spoilt. It was actually easy to fix the trouble.Was the password that overrides any admin pass: profit ?thanks again,its operating right exept one trouble though. I'll post it in another thread.
