Already enough time has passed since been made available to third service pack updates to Windows XP. Therefore offering you a manual for the integration of Beta XP SP3 distribution in Windows XP.
To create a custom boot disk Windows XP SP3 you will need the following:
• boot disk Windows XP (any SP, any version - Home or Pro).
• Windows XP SP3 (now in a position to beta test).
• Bart's Boot Image Extractor (BBIE).
• Nero Burning ROM.
You do not have to use Nero and BBIE exactly, but in this tutorial we use them precisely. All you need - application that can retrieve image boot sector of your disk with Windows XP, and the application that will be able to use it while writing for the creation of the boot disk. The choice of programs is critical.
Do not use this instruction to create a public version of the disc is now available with version XP SP3: in Windows Product Activation there is a serious mistake that will not let you install Windows XP without having to enter the key. That is, you will still ask for the product key, but the installer has taken no key, which you enter. We reported this to Microsoft and are waiting for the answer, but as you can suggest to solve this problem until just before the issuance of a package of gold.
Step one. Preparation of the data.
You need to re-establish the structure of folders on your computer before you will write disk.
I used the logical drive D: \, and it has created two folders - XPSP2CD (my drive already comes with XP SP2) and XP SP3, so I will continue to use these names.
Copy the contents of the disc with XP SP2 to the appropriate folder, but first make sure you have proper display hidden files and folders, and the disabled protection system files.
To do this, go to my computer to the Tools menu - Folder - Weed and see that you had the option "Show hidden files folder," and to the right of "Hide protected system files" is not standing tick.
Then copy the file itself XP SP3 (windowsxp-kb936929-sp3-x86-enu.exe) to the appropriate folder. To unpack the contents of the archive, you can use any archiver, but easier to type on the command line: D: \ XPSP3 \ windowsxp-kb936929-sp3-x86-enu.exe-x.
This command starts the dialog unpacking. Extract the contents of the archive to a folder D: \ XPSP3 and once archive will be unpacked, it can erase because it is no longer needed.
Step Two. Extracting the image downloads.
BBIE Download and unpack it in a folder (in my case is D: \ BBIE), and then open a command prompt and go to the D: \ BBIE, dial bbie x: where x - disc with XP SP2.
BBEE hold scanning disk and extract all the available boot images, creating the type of names image1.bin, image2.bin. The disc with XP must have one boot image. BBIE can also retrieve images from the boot disks. To do this, enter the command bbie x: \ cdimage.iso where x - folders, and cdimage.iso - the file name.
After scanning the disk boot sector will be saved in a folder with BBIE.
Step Three. Integration SP 3.
To integrate the package updates, it is necessary to enter on the command line: D: \ XPSP3 \ i386 \ update \ update.exe / integrate: D: \ XPSP2CD.
Note that integrate between: and D: \ XPSP2CD is no space. Then start the program upgrade, and integrates SP3 to the local disk, and a copy of report on the successful completion of the process.
Step Four. Creating a boot disk.
Start Nero Burning ROM and create a new boot disk. When you receive the disc creation settings, go into the settings tab downloads.
Check button "Image File" and select the file image1.bin that you got through BBIE. Then in the extra settings in the menu "type of emulation" select "No emulation" and make sure that the "boot sector segment" is set to 07C0 "and change the" Number of loaded sectors to 4.
Then click OK and add the contents of a folder D: \ XPSP2CD in the draft.
Most updates for Windows can be integrated in the same way, so it makes sense to maintain the image on the disk drive, disk recording project in Nero, which will allow you to easily add update. Using rewritable drive will allow you to avoid unnecessary waste of discs. This method also works when you update the contents of the disk on the network.
