Thread: Windows XP tells 'BOOTMGR neglecting

Hi Guys,My pc was operating utterly with Windows XP Pro Service Pack 3. I set up a software which i utilize at my work place. Now the set up stuck so i tested out to shut down it from Task Manager, it stuck my pc. I had only one choice : to restart it physically and so i did. Now the pc says "bootmgr is lacking" Now i can't begin my pc. Is there a way to repair this minus screwing my information? Please assist guys...!

Try to repair your windows by take fix choice. Boot your pc with the Windows XP CD . At the first screen take R to repair . This might assist you... All the best!

Hey i tested doing what you said... But it take me to a cmd prompt screen.. now how do i repair this trouble? it is actual to be at the cmd prompt? If yes then what am i suppoed to do there? i recognize nothing! assist me guys!

Hey! Extremely sorry, but i thought you would recognize how to repair the bootmgr.ok just that you are at the console recovery quick [not the actual cmd prompt] you will require to take your os . If you have onle one os set up press 1 and then press Enter. Now to fix the boot sector [Bootmgr is on the mbr which is the 1st sector of the hard-disk also recognize as boot sector] kind in the next cipher : Code: fixboot. then if quick for confirmation type in Y and press enter.This will repair your trouble for sure.

Really my pc utilize window 7..then I decided to alter it to window xp...then I formatted C from ms DOS...later that I insert window xp cd then boot mgr is lacking seem...the win xp cd /win 7 can't be read..so what really accure...is it any trouble with CD ROM
