Thread: Restore default hidden and system file assigns in XP.

Would love someone's assist on this one. I was operating on a machine that had a virus that marked nice much all document as "hidden" and "system" so of course the simple way out was to do this: ATTRIB -S -H /S /D C:\*.*, So now all document on the hard drive can be seen. The computer malware is gone but I'd like to recover the non-payments for papers such as "thumbs.db" and .ini records so they don't look like the other papers in files. I've tried this:secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\repair\secsetup.inf /db secsetup.sdb /verbose. Thank you!

I was also tackling the same type of problem and the thing here is that when I next this link I got the right solution over the same trouble. So I require you to just try this one whether it assist you to get entire the document attributes of yours. I guess it works for you and get you the appropriate solution.

Thank you for the reply. It doesn't appear like that will utilize for my situation with XP.The only other suggested I have so far from a unlike forum is to run an XP fix set up. I haven't finish this yet since the machine is in a different location (I was operating remotely) but I have been told this will take care of it.
