Can't imagine why anybody would not have upgraded by now to SP3. I did it so soon it arrive out and had zero compatibility matter on 2 PCs chocked full of a variety of software. Took about 45 minutes to download and set up per machine - entirely painless.

Two of my pc have an AMD processor. There were reports of trouble. So I delayed as long as potential. MS did arrive out with an update to stop this trouble, and I waited for it.I did have a trouble with the final machine. I had to abort and restart, then all worked out.

Go to Update for Windows XP (KB953356). Set up it. Then go to windows update in IE and operate it. If SP3 is not set up, you will have an choice to set up it. Make sure there are no programs operating, antivirus, etc. The way to block entire programs is to run MSconfig, hit the services button, hide entire the MS services and then disable what is left. After the set up, go back and ineffective entire services. Good luck.
