Can't imagine why anybody would not have upgraded by now to SP3. I did it so soon it arrive out and had zero compatibility matter on 2 PCs chocked full of a variety of software. Took about 45 minutes to download and set up per machine - entirely painless.
Two of my pc have an AMD processor. There were reports of trouble. So I delayed as long as potential. MS did arrive out with an update to stop this trouble, and I waited for it.I did have a trouble with the final machine. I had to abort and restart, then all worked out.
I have set up SP3 on 5 Home Built PC's minus any worries and entire have AMD CPU's. I primitively Downloaded the ISO (as soon as it arrive out) and burned to Disc then utilized that each time to set up on the comps, then went to MS Updates for the new updates.
Hi all,I have been away from my pc because Feb. I am in the procedure of updating just about all. The news reported here has shocked me. Where can I get SP3 and what is the update for the AMDcomputers. I am actually behind the eight-ball on this.
Go to Update for Windows XP (KB953356). Set up it. Then go to windows update in IE and operate it. If SP3 is not set up, you will have an choice to set up it. Make sure there are no programs operating, antivirus, etc. The way to block entire programs is to run MSconfig, hit the services button, hide entire the MS services and then disable what is left. After the set up, go back and ineffective entire services. Good luck.
