Install software problem in Windows XP

Quite often when working with Windows XP a situation arises when some programs are unwilling to properly installed. This is reflected in the fact that, as appropriate, at the beginning of a window monitor the process, the indicator which shows the degree of completion of the installation in the form of a percentage scale. When the installation comes almost to the end (it is marked by what zakrashivaetsya indicator to 100%), the installation process is stopped, despite the fact that continues to remain active in the computer's memory.

Case all that with a new program gets its installer (application program sets), which needed a place to gesture disk for temporary storage of files necessary for the successful completion of the installation. So, the problem arises when the path for storing temporary files folder is too long a name. This has resulted in the successful installation process puts them there, but then could not find it.

To solve this problem, only the relatively short path to the folder storing temporary files. To do this, right-click on the icon "My Computer". In the resulting menu, select Properties, then, finding themselves in the dialog box, "Internet system, go to the" Advanced "tab, where click" Environment Variables ". At the top of the box that appears is the "User Environment", where we can find the necessary options. Then change the value of variables TEMP and TMP. To do so, enter a new path to the folder storing temporary files (rather short and preferably not have the Cyrillic alphabet in its name), for example, "C: \ Temp." Once you have done that, you can delete a folder, the path to which was established in a given place before you made changes.

In addition to this problem, there is another, namely, that some are attempting to install the installer application for a particular address on the hard drive. Namely, "% windir% \ Temp 'where windir%%" - the way Windows folder location. For example, the address might be: "C: \ Windows \ Temp." Fortunately, these installers rarely occur, but if (suddenly) said is not helpful way to change the ways to store temporary files, you may have to create this folder, thereby allowing the problem.
