Bluetooth Technology
It is a simple type of wireless networking that will allow for the creation of a small network with up to eight devices being connected at once. These devices can also include PDAs, Laptops, Mobile Phones and Personal Computers also. Yet, Bluetooth may also be found in keyboards, mouse, headsets and mobile phone which are having hands-free kits, amongst the others. This was first been introduced by the Ericsson in 1994. But in the year 1998 the Bluetooth SIG a group was formed by a small number of main companies like Ericsson, Nokia, Intel and Toshiba which help each other to develop and promote their technology with each other.

Bluetooth also falls under the personal area for networking while it is has a very short range i.e.30 to 300 feet. This range will add to the security of such a technology in that if someone wanted to hack your connection then he would not only need special equipment but also will require to have a fairly close to you. The main characteristic of Bluetooth are that they are completely different from Infra Red, where the signal is not been affected by the walls it only makes use of radio technology, it is also not very expensive, and also has a little power consumption for it.

This includes part one of my articles. In part two we have viewed that what is been to be needed i.e. how we can set up a wireless network and what will the Windows 2003 will provide us with for networking.
