    Default Wireless function totally disappeared

The wireless on my laptop has been totally departed. There is no wireless connection in my Control Panel > Network and Internet Connections > Network Connections area. The wireless button on my connection remains orange while on the position. Switching it off and on while doing nothing. I also tried to remove the battery and also unplugging it from AC power and then keeping down the power button to reset the BIOS, and that too did not work at all. I also tried downloading the three different drivers from HP (Broadcom Wireless LAN Drver, HP Wireless Associate, and WinFlash for HP Notebook System BIOS) and none of them did something for me. I've bought a HP Pavilion Entertainment PC model dv9074cl for running my Windows Xp with the Service Pack 3. I'm also a pretty much in tech noob as far as the terms goes but I also know how to run a computer politely well, so please give details of everything if there's any sort of terms which I may be unable to understand.

I'll offer any supplementary information that's needed. Thanks.

In device manager, with the network adapters, what are you able to see. Are you able to see the wireless adapter in it? If this was a working connection, then when did it go bad? Have you made any hardware/software alteration in relation to this time. If a fairly the present thing, you may also try a system restore to see to it that backs up your system to a working configuration.

The only things are mainly in the network adapters section which is "1394 Net Adapter" and then "NVIDIA nForce the Networking Controller" in it. It has gone bad from last night. The only change which I had made while installing the AVG Anti-Virus Free, and this had taken place three to four days before this new problem occurred in my computer.
I've also tried doing a system restore to all the way back to the first of April, and I have also tried a system recovery by making use of the built-in partition from when I did the recovery with the help of recovery discs. The doing of a recovery with the help of recovery discs can fix the problem? I would really prefer not to because I've got no way to do the back up of my files, but I hope that it's the only way for fixing the problem.

At this point of time, is that your wireless adapter has gone bad or corrupted. I hope that somebody else here might be having some thoughts on this. If your pc is still under the HP warranty, then I would suggest you to inform them about this, or possibly post up a question to their Tech support group about the problem which you are facing. If it is a hardware problem, then the recovery discs will probably may not fix it and as you may then have to re-install all your applications as well as the files in your computer. I don't think this will help but maybe worth a look see.

Take out the battery of the laptop, turn it over and try to open the access door to get in the wireless card. Confirm that it is totally placed seated in the socket. If that doesn't work then I'll agree with the last posts before mine about getting in touch with the HP.

If you're looking to not only fix but prohibit future problems - Cyberdefender has worked amazingly for me! Ya might want to check into it....
