Yesterday while swapping my Win XP Pro in to a new motherboard I at the end landed up in to loading a repair while installing Win XP Pro today since of many connected problems to it. That was also fairly the learning point.

After doing the reinstalling of Win XP whole thing was working fine. After the MB been changed out and the XP reinstall I in fact had a remote desktop gathering with a tech support person for helping me out with the installing of some software which are been required while reloading on my PC. The PC which had gone out and downloaded the XP updates, which I installed them. After finishing the system reboot, the Realtek Network Adapter then commenced with a Limited or No Connectivity problem and a 169.254. APIPA problem. The SFC and driver reload in fact got the adapter to say "Connected, Fire walled". Still then I’m not able to get it to connect to the internet or the office LAN. When I got annoyed by reading the forum, internet guru's in dispute with each other about what other are not aware of XP and networking, I then lastly sys restored it back for the time when it was working this morning.

After doing the sys restore, I was able to get the network adapter to show "Connected, Firewalled" again. I possibly will be able to see the office LAN computers as well as could also go on the internet. But weirdly, when I tried to activate the windows over the internet it went back to Limited or No Connectivity.

The network port which I'm using is on the motherboard. I do not have any part of NIC. This PC is part of a domain. I’m having four PC's which are serving as a workstations and one Server. The improvement done for the PC is of one of the workstations. While I was encountering with my problem, the other three PC's and the server were all working fine and had been connected to internet through out the day. This also informs me that it is not the router, or the cable modem, or the switch which is causing the problem. Cable modem which is been joined to a Linksys router and which is also attached to another eight port switch. The PC's and Server are been attached via CAT5 to the switch. There are also no wireless but all are in configuration. I don't consider it that it is a malware problem as the PC which was up for not more than twenty minutes before encountering the above problem and it also worked fine before the MB upgraded in the computer.

I've also got to get this PC activated yet every time I do; there is a network problem which appears on the desktop. Any ideas?
