Thread: Problem with Wireless connection

Hey.
I have a dell computer, not certain of the make and model, but tell me where to look and I'll find what you need. I'm presently a Comcast customer, making use of an older model 'modem' that is not having the wireless potential. I also have a WiFi max datel for PsP and DS. Before I change from AT&T, my WiFi worked completely, but seeing as the switch, I have had to fight for innumerable hours trying to get the wireless internet up and running. When I left for the weekend, I revisit to see that my wireless connection has totally died. No matter my efforts, I’m unable to get it up and running it again as before. It always says that it has outstanding connection strength, but little to no connectivity. Please help! Sorry that I have not provided with you with the detailed, but tell me where to look and I can tell you the whole thing you need to know!

How many devices are you trying to access the internet?

What is the present setup of the device(s)? (How are they setup to connect to the internet)

More than likely you will require purchasing a new wireless router, unless I miss my guess, the older Comcast modem does not act as a DHCP server and the restricted or no connectivity means you are not getting an IP address...

PS3, WiFi, and Laptop. I also have a wireless router which is also plugged into my desk top. It's a WiFi max datel. I of attention that I can put that before, but my thoughts are basically don't come out right. I also used the set-up which is supposed to be used by the datel. The Comcast modem also has a cable cord for running to my wall as well as an Ethernet cable into my computer. Sorry if this is indistinct.

The Information which I’m finding is that the WiFi max datel is an access point and not a DHCP enabled router in it. You will also require to have a router who will act as a DHCP server, since the message you receive of limited or no connectivity it means that you are not getting an IP address...

This appears to be for the use of internet connection sharing. Have you uninstalled and reinstalled the software?

Over 14 times, beside with trying to update the driver. It worked fine but when I had AT&T and I'm also making use of the same set-up, not just mentioning, I've also tried it out countless times.

Ok which of the device is receiving the restricted or no connectivity? Is it the laptop or the PS3? If it's the laptop then the best way for getting a DHCP enabled wireless router the WiFi max datel is the merely an access point. The difficult way is to setup the internet connection through sharing it on the desktop which is plugged into the modem and it will require to be left on all the time. The cause for this I think is that the AT&T modem had WIFI and was a DHCP enabled router, the older Comcast I believe it does not have these potential.

My desktop is stating that the WiFi is having limited to no connectivity, but also has outstanding strength. The WiFi also worked with the Comcast for a few days, but then it suddenly 'died'. The Zydas [I think that's it] that comes up when I connect to the WiFi router into my desktop it won't then display a 'mac address'. When inspecting the 'wireless' connection which is trying to set up on my computer, it shows no entry and occasionally shows an IP address.

Well now that's a different way. From what I've comprehend on that product is that it does have problems in it. I also believe that you had no problems with the AT&T is that it was a wireless router as well as connecting through that way, may also require to call the manufacture or try out with a different USB port if you are having an additional.

I've tried both the ways but nothing worked out. I'm also going to have to remedy to imploring to company to come back out here. I really do appreciate the help though.

No difficulty with the help. But good luck for receiving the Comcast to help with the networking problems that generally don't support it. You may also wish to get a MOD for moving this to Networking, I hope for getting some better suggestions...

Well...I've reported it to be moved with the old way. Generally just click at the report and ask a MOD to move it.
