This is for a Compaq-6000 laptop (HP brand) | Windows Vista-OS | friendly to wireless connection with the broadband connection | household uses VoIP / internet /cable-TV
Over the way of 2-weeks, someway my wireless connection has stopped working. After the post and launch of it to desktop, that led on front the of laptop which would alter to blue, then WLAN perceive would always pop-up in lower left corner of screen shaping the WLAN was connected.
I have no idea about it what I can do for getting this back working as before. Laptop also has a built-in network adapter, and Ethernet means for both the hard-wired and wireless. I make use of this laptop when the other PC is in-use. With this option it permits me for multi-use of internet without having to wait for the other PC to become free. At first I was of notion that the drivers might have been outdated.
This is what I have done so far as I have run out of thoughts as to how to determine this problem.
1) Also gone to HP site and from there downloaded the drivers for both the Broadcom 802.11 b/g adapter as well as HP Wireless Assistant for my flash drive. Then downloaded those drivers to my laptop.
2) Also went to Microsoft as an error message stated that the drivers could not be download the Code-31 for the adapter. This site is based on the code that states the Microsoft is conscious of this kind of problem, and this would not stop the network adapter and must also operate accurately. This is not the case. At the time I’m only able to connect to my wireless by hardwire cat-5 cable. The laptop is also having the option for both, but now the led stays that the color "amber" when the laptop is on. The slide knob also remains to the right (on) and is never turned off, I have checked this after launching to desktop screen.
3) Executed a system restore point back to a preceding time when the wireless was operating correctly and re-installed the drivers from my flash drive. This did not determine the problem.
Any help is greatly acknowledged.
