I have just bought a new laptop. I tried to connect the laptop to a free public Wi-Fi connection on my laptop and finding difficult to connect to it. It also says that I’m connected but all I keep receiving is unable to locate out the server on the internet. I also have tried to go in and fixing the connection but it too did not worked at all. HELP!!!!

You can try deleting your wireless network adapter in device manager and then allowing the windows to reinstall it again in the laptop. This has resolved most of my problem with the wireless network cards. Also verify that you are having the latest wireless drivers available from the laptop manufacturer’s website.

First guess is a security suite (Norton, McAfee, etc.) that hasn't been configured to allow access. If that's not it please show ...

Start, Run, CMD, OK for opening of a command prompt:

Type the subsequent command in the command window:

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, lastly press the Enter key. Then paste the results in form of message here. If required then make use of a text file and removable media for copying the results to a computer with the internet access.

This is an impractical question, but you're completely sure that it's a free public Wi-Fi spot, yes?
