A wireless network is same as a hardwired setup, leaving the device using airwaves to connect to others. While having printer hooked up to a device, you can still connect to the printer from a wireless desktop or laptop. The connection created is same as making a connection to a printer in a hardwired setup, but the printer is only present till you are connected to the wireless desktop. Making the connection in Windows Vista is done in the Control Panel.

• Click Windows "Start" menu. From the list, choose "Printers and Faxes". This will open a new dialog box. Click "Add a printer" icon to start the wizard that guides through the process.

• Click "Next" at the opening window. After the screen appears, choose the "A network printer or a printer connected to another computer". From this widow, click "Next".

• Click "Browse for a printer". This will open a new dialog window. Click twice on the network printer is connected. This will display a list of shared resources on the PC.

• Click twice on the "Printers". Choose shared printer from the option. Click "Next". This will start the installation. This installs the printer drivers on the system.

• Click "Finish" after the drivers are completed installation. Check the printer is installed by going to control panel and double click the "Printers". Under this window, the newly added printer will be there.
